Shannon from KISS in the Kitchen recently featured some of our frozen vegetable mixtures as part of her series on healthy recipe ideas on the lifestyle morning show, “It’s a Great Day San Antonio” on KENS5!
Take a look at her quick, 6-minute video for easy to make recipes that are healthy, delicious, and do double duty for sit-down meals at home as well as grab-and-go snacks for when you’re on the move with work and school!
Here are a few of her suggestions:
- Pistachios make for a great snack! A one-ounce serving offers a generous amount of nuts, and they’re high in protein and fiber. Instead of putting out a bowl of potato chips at a party, serve your friends seasoned pistachios – they’re tasty and healthier.
- Chicken quinoa cups featuring Tommy’s Superfoods Fiesta Quinoa might look fancy but they’re simple to make and easy to eat! This recipe is low-sodium but high in flavor through the addition of mango and herbal seasonings in the Fiesta Quinoa. For an added boost of veggies, top with Tommy’s Super Greens guacamole. The Chicken Quinoa Cups are delicious served warm or cold so you can enjoy them at any time.
- If you want a dip that has some extra fruit, give Shannon’s Pineapple Guacamole a try! The recipe can be made as spicy as you like by adjusting the amount of chili powder and cilantro you add in. Everyone is sure to love this sweet and savory combination.
- A Rainbow Fruit Tray is a family friendly sweet treat that is also great for parties! Select your favorite fruits in the colors of the rainbow for a colorful presentation. If you’re using pineapple, sprinkle a bit of chili powder on top for an extra WOW!
