Because Tommy’s Superfoods is a Non GMO Project verified business, we are often asked about other non-GMO companies we recommend. While we all have our favorite brands and product selections (as much as we love making delicious frozen vegetable medleys, we also have a real sweet toothl!), one of the great things about being Non GMO Project verified is that you can completely trust the food you are buying and eating to be free of genetically modified ingredients. So, whether you’re looking for desserts, vegetables, fruits, dairy, grains… You can’t go wrong when you support a company that carries the Non GMO Project verification logo!
Why support the Non-GMO Project?
We’re big supporters of the Non-GMO Project because they’re a non-profit organization that believes everyone has a right to know what’s in the food they’re buying and feeding their families. They offer the only third party verification and non-GMO certification program in North America for food and consumer products and they work to increase awareness about the impact GMOs have on our health and food production systems.
Due to the rise in concern voiced by consumers, and the lack of oversight provided by government agencies, the Non-GMO Project launched its Non GMO verification program in 2010. In the last six years they have worked with thousands of food manufacturers and brands to avoid GMO contamination in their products. They also have worked with thousands of retailers and grocery stores across the country to promote and share their commitment to stocking and selling food that is GMO free.
