Celebrating the holidays with our friends and family, sharing memories, and enjoying good food really gives us allll the warm fuzzy feelings. And as we were reflecting on those cozy feelings, it got us thinking about something else: all that we have to be thankful for this time of the year.
Tommy’s Gives Thanks
With this in mind, we wanted to share everything we’re grateful for, so, here’s the Tommy’s Superfoods list of reasons for giving thanks this season. If you’ve got reasons to be thankful this year, scroll down to the bottom of the post and leave us a comment. We’d love to hear them!
A Rise in Healthy Diets
As we’ve written about before, plant-based diets are on the rise, and it doesn’t look like they’re going anywhere. You all know, we’re big believers in the power of eating plant-based. So, of course, hearing that more people are enjoying this diet is something to be thankful for!
But it’s not just the general rise in this diet’s popularity that’s good to hear. There are also a lot of other reasons to be grateful for the rise in healthy eating. Some of these include:
- Plant-based foods are becoming more accessible and affordable in stores and restaurants.
- Healthy eating can help individuals lead a more healthy lifestyle all around.
- Eating plant-based means you can eat healthy without going hungry or compromising on taste.
- Plant-based food isn’t as resource intensive as traditional Western food like meat, dairy, and eggs, which helps the planet and our environment.

Better Farming Practices
New technologies and innovations are bringing about more options for better farming practices, and we think that’s something to give thanks for, because that means less stress on the Earth and its resources.
Traditional farming practices have seen the growth of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, antibiotics, and GMO usage. It’s bad news! But with new innovation, creating a sustainable and more environmentally-conscious farming practice is becoming increasingly more attainable. There are many farms that are already doing their part to cut down on food waste, use water management, and staying away from non-environmentally sound pest control. Many of our farmers turn all their plant waste into biofuel!
Because of this rise in better practices, farms are seeing healthy soil, good water quality, and biodiversity in their environment. This is something that benefits not only the Earth, but the quality of food that we eat as well, and that’s why it’s a big part of our gratefulness list this year.
Recyclable Packaging
You may have already heard about companies who’ve been switching to recyclable packaging. Including us! And seeing that change is just another reason to be feeling grateful.
Recyclable packaging cuts down on waste not only in the home but in our environment as well. Waste that isn’t recyclable or biodegradable ends up in landfills, where they stay for years before decomposing, or sometimes never decomposing. Some of these materials also end up in bodies of water where they are eaten by wildlife.
With recyclable packaging, we can cut down on the amount of material that is left in landfills and our environment. This means helping the Earth stay healthy in addition to all the lives on it.
We’re thankful for you!
Of course, we can’t talk about all we’re thankful for without mentioning our greatest gift: you!
We love knowing that we can make vegetables a part of your plate quickly and easily, and your support makes that happen. Thanks to you, we can keep growing and making healthy food more accessible to everyone.
We’re so grateful for each and every one of you, our wonderful customers, this season.
